Pakistan Gets Another Air Ambulance Service

Sky Wings, a private aviation company, has introduced its air ambulance service in Pakistan, marking a significant step in emergency medical care. Following the pioneering efforts of the Edhi Foundation, the service aims to provide swift and reliable patient transportation nationwide.

The service will commence with a Piper Seneca aircraft, currently stationed in Karachi. This aircraft is specially equipped to transfer patients from airports across the country to Karachi, ensuring prompt access to critical medical care.

The service features a dedicated medical team to assist patients during flights. Imran Aslam Khan, CEO of Sky Wings Aviation, announced plans to expand the fleet by adding two more aircraft in the near future.

With a focus on providing nationwide coverage, the company aims to facilitate swift patient transfers from both remote and urban areas to medical facilities. This initiative is a significant step toward enhancing emergency medical response in Pakistan.

In July 2022, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz inaugurated a government-operated air ambulance service. This service successfully transported an injured woman from Mianwali to Rawalpindi, demonstrating the government’s commitment to serving the people.
