Punjab to Retire School Teachers With Certain Education Level

The School Education Department has announced its decision to prioritize the early retirement of teachers whose educational qualifications are limited to matriculation.

A new retirement policy has been introduced, expected to affect more than 3,000 teachers. Under this policy, teachers aged 50 and above will be offered the option of early retirement.

The department has already gathered data on teachers aged 50 and above. Furthermore, the School Education Department has approached the Chief Secretary, requesting approval for amendments to the existing retirement policy.
