Punjab Announces Schedule for Matric and Inter Exams 2025
With the reopening of schools and educational institutions, the Punjab Education Department has released the schedule for academic activities, annual examinations, and the new admission policy for the Rawalpindi division, covering the period from January 15 to May 31.
As stated in an official circular, the new academic year for 2025-26 will commence on April 1. Admissions for Junior Class Prep, Nursery Class I, and other early grades are set to begin on February 3.
The schedule for the annual examinations is as follows:
- Matriculation Exams: Commencing on March 4
- Class IX Exams: Starting on March 21
- Intermediate Exams: Scheduled for the first week of May
Admissions in government schools will be conducted in two phases:
- Phase 1: From April 1 to May 31 for Classes I to II.
- Phase 2: From August 15 to October 31 for additional intakes.
Annual examinations for Classes I to VIII are scheduled from March 12 to March 25, with results announced on March 31. Each class will accommodate new admissions up to 10% of its total student capacity, limiting the overall number of new enrollments in government schools.
Abrar Ahmad Khan, President of the All Pakistan Private Schools Management Association (APPSMA), announced that private schools will begin their new admissions on February 1. Annual examinations for private schools will be held in February, with the new academic year starting in March.
