Pakistan and Germany have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen bilateral ties, focusing on trade, investment, renewable energy, education, and infrastructure development.
In Lahore, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz met German Ambassador Alfred Grannas to discuss projects in technical education, health, IT, and renewable energy. She highlighted Punjab’s solarization project, while the German envoy appreciated the investment-friendly policies of the province.
At the federal level, Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan also held a meeting with German Minister Svenja Schulze in Islamabad. Both leaders agreed to enhance Pakistan Germany bilateral ties through greater cooperation in sustainable business practices, labor standards, and SME development.
Earlier this year, Pakistan and Germany signed a €45 million Technical Cooperation Agreement. The deal covers climate and energy, economic growth, social protection, and training programs, ensuring that vulnerable groups, including women and youth, benefit from the partnership.
In May 2025, Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi met with Ambassador Grannas to explore German support in upgrading Pakistan’s railway system. The talks focused on modernizing infrastructure and improving transport quality to international standards.
These engagements clearly show that Pakistan Germany bilateral ties are expanding beyond traditional trade. Now, both countries are working together on clean energy, skill development, and large-scale infrastructure modernization.
