Pakistan has reported that its security forces successfully repelled a major cross-border infiltration attempt from Afghanistan, killing at least 33 militants. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the incident occurred in the North Waziristan region when a large group of armed militants attempted to breach the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. Pakistani forces responded swiftly, engaging in a fierce gun battle that lasted for several hours.

The ISPR stated that the militants were heavily armed and appeared to be part of a coordinated assault aimed at destabilizing the region. No casualties among Pakistani troops were reported, and the military praised the swift and effective response of its personnel in defending the country’s territorial integrity.

This incident has raised fresh concerns about the growing threat of cross-border terrorism and the continued presence of militant groups operating from Afghan soil. Pakistan has repeatedly urged the Afghan interim government, led by the Taliban, to prevent its territory from being used by terrorist elements against neighboring countries. The recent clash highlights the fragile security situation along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border and underscores the need for stronger regional cooperation to combat terrorism.
