Punjab Announces 1 Lac E-Bikes and 50,000 Scholarships

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz unveiled an ambitious initiative to distribute 100,000 e-bikes and award 50,000 scholarships to students in the coming year. The announcement was made during a ceremony at Okara University, where she personally handed out scholarship cheques to deserving students. As a gesture of gratitude, she was presented with portraits and photographs during the event.

In her address, Maryam Nawaz described the Talented Students Scholarship Program as the largest initiative of its kind in the country’s history. “I am here to share my vision and listen to the voices of students,” she remarked, reaffirming her dedication to advancing education.

Maryam Nawaz commended Education Minister Rana Sikander Hayat for his dedication, stating, “He is performing exceptionally well. Like a diligent student, he accepts criticism yet continues to deliver results.” She also encouraged everyone to pursue truth in all their endeavors.

She announced that 100,000 students across Punjab would receive e-bikes next year, while 30,000 students would benefit from scholarships this year, with the number rising to 50,000 next year. Emphasizing the purpose of these scholarships, she explained that they are not acts of charity but acknowledgments of students’ merit and potential.

Maryam Nawaz also announced plans to establish the Okara Medical College by 2025 and shared news of the first shipment of laptops arriving under the student support scheme. She assured attendees that the Talented Students Scholarship Program strictly adhered to merit, emphasizing that no student was questioned about their political affiliations or granted scholarships based on recommendations.

The event concluded on a lively note, with Maryam Nawaz mingling with students, taking selfies, and engaging with the young women in attendance, fostering a vibrant and cheerful atmosphere.
